TxDOT: Extreme heat causes I-10 frontage road to buckle

The eastbound frontage road near Wayside was shut down as crews worked to repair it.

HOUSTON — The extreme heat across the Houston area is taking a toll on our roadways. We told you about road issues that the Texas Department of Transportation said were caused by the heat last week. Another issue popped up Monday night.

The latest issue is on the I-10 frontage road eastbound at Wayside. According to the TxDOT, heat is to blame for the buckling.

The frontage road was shut down, as was the ramp from the frontage road to get onto the East Freeway at Wayside.

To get around the issue, drivers were told to jump on the main lanes.

You'll want to avoid this trouble if your commute takes you into this area.
