TxDOT says work will be done between Wayside and Lathrop.

HOUSTON — Heads up to drivers on the East Freeway. Emergency roadwork will have you hitting the brakes.

According to a tweet from the Texas Department of Transportation, emergency repair work is needed along I-10 westbound between Wayside and Lathrop. The three left lanes will be closed.

There have been several issues on Houston-area roads, and TxDOT says our excessive heat is likely to blame. Roads have been buckling and many unsuspecting drivers have ended up with flat tires. It’s not clear yet if the East Freeway repair work is needed because of the heat.
