Houston-area school districts delay, cancel classes after strong overnight storms

HOUSTON — Strong overnight storms in Southeast Texas prompted several schools to delay their starts or cancel classes altogether.

Here's a list of Houston-area school districts that have adjusted their schedules or canceled classes:

  • Goose Creek CISD will have a two-hour delay
  • Barbers Hill ISD will have a two-hour delay
  • Texas City ISD will have a two-hour delay
  • Corrigan-Camden ISD will have a two-hour delay
  • Shepherd ISD will have a one-hour delay
  • Coldspring-Oakhurst CISD will have a one-hour delay
  • Trinity ISD will be closed Monday
  • Madisonville CISD will be closed Monday
  • Goodrich ISD will be closed Monday
