Driver arrested after leading deputies on a chase...again

The driver had felony warrants for running from deputies who say they also saw the man involved in a drug deal.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — It's back to jail for the driver who lead deputies on a short chase.

It lasted about 10 minutes in the northwest part of the county Thursday afternoon before ending on West Gulf Bank Road. Harris County Sheriff's deputies said the driver they arrested is no stranger.

They didn't identify the driver, but deputies said the man had several felony warrants, including evading arrest. At the scene where it ended, sheriff's deputies told KHOU 11 one of the driver's warrants was for skipping his court date after his arrest for another police chase.

Deputies were working an undercover assignment when they said they watched the driver take part in a drug deal. When deputies tried to stop the car, the driver took off.

The chase ended with a minor wreck that damaged a Harris County Sheriff's Office patrol car. The driver was arrested and taken to the hospital to be checked out.
