HOUSTON — An alleged love-triangle ended with a husband shooting and killing a man while he was showering in his apartment, Houston police say.

Edwin Figueroa, 23, is charged with murder of 22-year-old Rafael Serrano Nunez, who was shot inside his apartment Wednesday night in the 10400 block of South Drive in southwest Houston.

Houston police say Figueroa, the victim’s boss, confessed to them that he shot Nunez who was allegedly having an affair with Figueroa’s wife.

Figueroa told investigators he had already assaulted Nunez before but was still mad. They say he bought some beer and did some cocaine before heading over to the victim’s apartment and shooting him in the shower.

Figueroa told police he had known Nunez for four years and they had been friends.

Houston police say officers responded to the shooting at 9 p.m. Wednesday and found Nunez shot once. He was transported to a local hospital in serious condition but did not survive.

Police said Nunez told identified Figueroa on the way to the hospital that his boss broke into his apartment and shot him while he was showering.

He crawled out into the parking lot and called for help, police said.

Nunez was later pronounced dead at the hospital.
