HOUSTON — KHOU 11 chief meteorologists David Paul and meteorologist Tim Pandajis were tracking severe thunderstorms throughout the night Wednesday.
As the storms approached, they warned of the lightning and possible straight-line wind damage, and there was plenty of that across Southeast Texas. You can see some of that here.
The National Weather Service reported that there were trees down across several parts of the Houston area. It also noted a record Wednesday night. As the storms moved through, one gust at Bush IAH was clocked at 97 miles per hour. That was at 9:04 p.m., and according to the National Weather Service, that’s the highest gust ever recorded there.

The storms have moved out, but more storms are possible Thursday evening.
