HOUSTON — A Freeze Warning is in effect Thursday for counties northwest of Houston.
The Freeze Warning has been expanded south to now include Montgomery, San Jacinto, Waller, Austin and Colorado counties.
Harris County will likely be in the mid-30s tonight.
Clear skies and cold, dry air will make for efficient cooling conditions.
Remember to cover tender plants in warned areas and make a warm place for people and pets. There's no expected threat to your home's pipes.
Friday
High around 63, lows in the upper-40s. Mostly sunny, a few clouds. At least clearing skies will keep the rain threat away through the weekend. It's all because of a big dip in the jet stream that will open the door to cold air coming in all the way from Alaska.
The weekend
Highs in the mid-60s, lows in the low 50s. Mostly sunny. Winds at 5-10 mph. A beautiful weekend!
Next week
Winds shift back out of the east/southeast — bringing humidity and a slight rain chance. Temps back in the 70s.
