HOUSTON — "CJ Stroud’s an absolute DAWWWWG," is all ESPN's Pat McAfee had to say about the Houston Texans quarterback's record-setting performance in a thriller against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Stroud threw for five touchdowns and an NFL rookie-record 470 yards to lift the Texans to a 39-37 win over Tampa Bay in a wild back-and-forth game on Sunday.

Adding to the chaos, Houston running back Dare Ogunbowale became the first non-kicker or punter to make a field goal since Wes Welker did it on Oct. 10, 2004, for the Dolphins against New England. He handled the kickoff duties in the second half with kicker Kaʻimi Fairbairn out with a quadriceps injury.

But Stroud was the star of the show on Sunday, even earning respect from basketball icon LeBron James, who simply said, "C.J. STROUD. That's All."

Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III also had high praise for the rookie, saying, "I TRIED TO TELL YOU. CJ Stroud is a Top 10 QB."

The reaction from Texans' head coach DeMeco Ryans? You can see it in the postgame speech, as he gave Stroud the game ball.
