Baby found dead at recycling center will be laid to rest Monday

The infant, now called Noel, was fount two days before Christmas at a waste management facility. According to police, Nidia Alvarado allegedly strangled the baby and watched him die before she stuffed him in a duffel bag and threw him in the trash.

SAN ANTONIO -- A baby boy, who was discovered dead three months ago at a local recycling center, will be laid to rest Monday.

The infant, now called Noel, was fount two days before Christmas at a waste management facility.

San Antonio police arrested 25-year-old Nidia Alvarado in connection to his death.

According to her arrest warrant, Alvarado allegedly strangled the baby and watched him die before she stuffed him in a duffel bag and threw him in the trash.

Police were able to trace the duffel bag to University Hospital wherethe baby wasborn which eventually led them toAlvarado.

Local businesswoman Pamela Allen raised funds for funeral arrangements and after months of legal battles was awarded his body.

Baby Noel will be laid to rest at the Chapel Hill Funeral Homelocated in the 7700 blockof Gibbs Sprawl Rd Monday morning at 11:00a.m.

\Alvarado remains jailed on murder charges.
