Family's dogs die in Klein house fire

Firefighters say there was a heater on the front porch that may be to blame for the fire, which remains under investigation.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A family's home caught fire in Klein overnight, killing two dogs.

No family members were hurt.

Firefighters say the fire broke out just before midnight Tuesday in the 8200 block of Woolf Road. The flames ripped through a double-wide trailer and then shot through the roof of the home.

Both the Klein Fire Department and the Harris County Fire Marshal's Office worked the blaze. It took firefighters about an hour to put it out.

A man, his wife and their adult son all managed to get out safely, but unfortunately their two pups did not make it.

The fire marshal and arson investigators are working to figure out what caused the devastating fire. Investigators are focusing on what appeared to be a type of heater that was on the front porch.
