Former Oiler Hank Autry passes away at 66

Former Houston Oilers center Hank Autry has passed away. He was 66 years old.

KATY, Texas Former Houston Oilers center Hank Autry has passed away. He was 66 years old.

Autry, who played center for the Oilers from 1969 -1970, lived in Wimberley, Texas. He played in 28 games for Houston, having spent his first season with the team while they were in the AFL.

He was drafted in the 17th round of the 1969 NFL Draft.

Before his time in Houston, Autry was a standout at the University of Southern Mississippi. He was a three-year letterman at center and also saw some action at guard. In 1968, he was an honorable mention All-American pick.

Autry is a member of the Southern Miss Hall of Fame.
