CLOVERLEAF, Texas — Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting in the Cloverleaf area of east Harris County Monday morning, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The sheriff posted to X about the shooting just after 5:45 a.m. This happened on Brownsville Street just east of Freeport Street.

The sheriff said deputies responded to that location after it was reported that two unknown males jumped a fence and came onto a property without permission. Then a man at the property shot at them, hitting one of the males.
That male was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff said. A second male ran from the scene.
The sheriff said the suspected shooter stayed at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
