MUGSHOTS: Police identify suspects arrested in deadly undercover drug bust

Houston Police say one suspect was shot and killed by an officer, while another died after he went into cardiac arrest when he wsa taken into custody.

HOUSTON – Police have identified six suspects arrested and charged in connection with an undercover drug bust that left two other suspects dead Wednesday night in the Greater East End.

Dale Campbell, 30, Damion Mann, 25, Esteban Ybarra, 26, Jasmer Rico Harris, 20, Marquis Guy, 25, and Oscar Saa, 21 are charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, police said Friday.

Mann and Ybarra are also charged with possession of a weapon.

A seventh suspect was later released.

The undercover drug bust happened just before 10 p.m. Wednesday at a warehouse on 77th Street and Harrisburg Boulevard.

It all started when HPD’s Narcotics Unit and the DEA agents set up the undercover bust to catch the suspects. Nine suspects showed up to the scene in two cars.

When officers identified themselves, one of the suspects, age 30, shot at them. A SWAT officer returned fire, hitting and killing him. His identified is still pending verification.

A second suspect, age 28, hopped into a car and drove off. He ended up crashing before running away on foot.

A K-9 officer eventually found that suspect near the ship channel. Police say as he was being cuffed, the suspect became unresponsive.

He died at the hospital. His cause of death and identification are pending verification.

As for the six other suspects, they were all rounded up at the warehouse and arrested.

None of the officers involved were hurt.
