Lil' Keke collabs with Howdy Homemade Ice Cream to launch new flavor

Lil' Keke said the inspiration behind his new flavor came from eating peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.

KATY, Texas — A new flavor has been added to the menu at Howdy Homemade Ice Cream just in time for those hot Southeast Texas summers!

This flavor came from a partnership between Houston rapper Lil' Keke and Howdy Homemade Ice Cream, a Katy ice cream shop owned by Rod Batson that employs people with special needs.

"LGND Sundae Peach Cobbler" has now been permanently added to the flavor lineup, along with cheesecake, chocolate-covered strawberry, red velvet and more.

Staff launched the new flavor with an "Eat & Greet" event with Lil' Keke, who was also celebrating his birthday and the release of his new album.

Batson said choosing to partner with Lil' Keke was a no-brainer.

"Great guy. Loves giving back to the community. Loves the special needs community so it just made sense. Then, he's an ice cream lover, so you know, I said 'let's make you your own flavor,'" Batson said.

Lil' Keke said his brand is all about being involved in the community.

"To pick me to represent a flavor of my own at an ice cream place was very instrumental for me," he said.

The rapper said his inspiration behind the flavor came from eating peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream.
