Kingwood Senior Village resident Herman Hechler
World War II veteran Herman Hechler was a deep sea diver in Korea and explored many places including a 350-pound Russian mine. He said he was a yard mine sweeper on the East Coast, where he swept the lanes for mines before heading off to Korea.
