HOUSTON — For the second time this week Houston drivers are drying out.
And so are their cars.
The sheriff's office says in Harris County alone there were 93 stranded motorists and 17 high-water rescues overnight Thursday into Friday morning. The county received about 3,000 911 calls, which is four times the normal rate.
Among the major roadways impacted by high water was the I-45 North HOV near I-10 in downtown as well as some I-69 Southwest Freeway ramps in Fort Bend County.
On Tuesday night cars and homes were flooded in Kingwood. In Sugar Land, several major roadways became impassable.
A Flash Flood Watch continues for all of the Houston area until Saturday evening. Another round of storms and rain is expected starting Saturday morning.
