HOUSTON — Many school districts across the Greater Houston area that closed on Tuesday due to the Arctic blast, say they will open on Wednesday.
While another hard freeze is forecast overnight, most of the icy roads that created dangerous driving conditions Monday and early today are clear now. As of 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Houston TranStar reported ice is still on parts of 290 and SH 249/Tomball Parkway.
These are the school districts we've heard from so far. Start times are normal unless stated otherwise.

School districts, colleges that will reopen Wednesday, Jan. 17
Aldine ISD: Open Wednesday
Alief ISD: Will open two hours late Wednesday; buses will also be delayed by two hours
Alvin ISD: Open Wednesday
Angleton ISD: Open Wednesday
Arrow Academy: Classes, buses and after-school activities will resume their normal schedules Wednesday.
Channelview ISD: Open Wednesday
Clear Creek ISD: Open Wednesday
Cleveland ISD: Open Wednesday; warming centers will remain open until 5 a.m. tomorrow
College of the Mainland: Open Wednesday
Conroe ISD: Open Wednesday
Crosby ISD: Open Wednesday
Cy-Fair ISD: All CFISD schools and facilities will be open Wednesday, Jan. 17, and all previously-scheduled school activities will resume.
Dickinson ISD: Open Wednesday
Fort Bend ISD: Open Wednesday
Galena Park ISD: Open Wednesday; Buses will resume normal routes and schedules.
Galveston College: Open Wednesday
