HOUSTON — As temperatures dropped to start the week, drivers were urged to use caution as periods of light freezing rain and sleet led to hazardous roadways.

The ice created dangerous driving conditions Monday and early Tuesday and led to hundreds of crashes. Thankfully, the sun came out and melted most of the ice by late Tuesday morning.
Houston TranStar reported there were still slick spots on parts of 290 and 249/Tomball Parkway late Tuesday afternoon.
