Award-winning cruise ship to start sailing out of Galveston in December

The Norwegian Prima will make history as the first vessel in the company to sail from Galveston.

GALVESTON, Texas — An award-winning cruise ship from the Norwegian Cruise Line will start sailing out of Galveston this month. 

The Norwegian Prima, the first ship in Norwegian Cruise Line's Prima Class, will sail out of Galveston for the first time on Dec. 15. The Norwegian Prima will make history as the first vessel in the company to sail from Galveston. 

Guests who book on the Norwegian Prima will be able to enjoy a variety of seven-day Caribbean cruises to tropical destinations including:

  • Norwegian Cruise Line's resort-style island
  • Harvest Caye in Belize
  • Costa Maya, Mexico
  • Cozumel, Mexico
  • Roatán
  • Honduras 

Norwegian Prima launched in August 2022. It features 1,500 staterooms and can accommodate 3,100 guests at double occupancy. It includes 18 dining venues and 17 bars and lounges among its 20 decks. It also has a three-level racetrack, a theater and club, a three-story transformational theater nightclub and a 44,000 square-foot, wrap-around walkway.

The cruise ship will keep sailing out of Galveston through April 2024. It will then return to the island in January 2025 through March 2025.
