Grand Parkway reopens at Franz Road after crash clears

Two people were taken to area hospitals with injuries sustained in a crash, Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — Traffic was diverted off the Grand Parkway for hours on Wednesday afternoon due to a crash.

Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said a man and a juvenile were taken to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries was not revealed, but the man was flown via Life Flight while the juvenile was taken via ambulance.

Gonzalez said the southbound lanes of 99 were shut down and traffic was diverted off the toll road at the Franz Road exit.

Around 6 p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety said the lanes were reopened.
