HOUSTON — Eleven people on board a charter bus were injured Saturday morning after the bus crashed into a barrier on the North Loop near I-45.
Five people were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries. The other six were checked out on scene and released with minor injuries.
The Houston Fire Department said a band production crew coming from Dallas was on board the bus. Officials did not say where they were going and which band the crew belonged to.
The charter bus was the only vehicle involved in the crash.
Houston police are investigating how this happened.
A crane is being used to remove the charter bus from the barrier of the freeway.
Firefighters said three westbound lanes on the North Loop will remained blocked for the next several hours. One lane of the freeway remains open.
