See what Whataburger has to say about the Astros vs Rangers series

Astros vs. Rangers marks the first time in MLB history two teams from the same state will face each other in a league championship series.

HOUSTON — One popular Texas brand is already chiming in now that a Houston Astros vs. Texas Rangers match-up is set for the American League Championship Series.

The Astros eliminated the Minnesota Twins Wednesday night, 3-1 in their best-of-five series in the American League Division Series. The Astros win sets up a series with their in-state rival, marking the first time in MLB history that two teams from the same state face each other in a league championship series.

Following the Astros' win, Whataburger posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, their take on the all-Texas match-up.

“Astros v Rangers going to have us feeling like Travis Kelce’s mom at the Super Bowl,” the tweet said.

The Super Bowl featured for the first time ever two brothers who are players on opposing teams in the big game. Donna Kelce, the mother of Kansas Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce, made headlines leading up to the game as she cheered for both of her sons.

The Whataburger tweet got plenty of reaction and the account had a few spicy responses for some on social media.

Some pushed Whataburger to pick a side in the rivalry.

Another added to the Donna Kelce analogy.

One user was quick to point out that one of the Corpus Christi Hooks, an Astros affiliate, has a stadium named for Whataburger.

One user made a threat should Whataburger show favoritism to the Rangers.

Another user responded that the Astros are the only "real" Texas team.
