TEXAS, USA — World Teachers' Day was created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in partnership with UNICEF. It's celebrated on October 5.
World Teachers' Day is a day to celebrate educators and there are more than 350,0000 of them in Texas. It's an opportunity to recognize the teaching profession worldwide, and honor their passion for craft.
This year's theme is 'Teachers: Leading in crisis, reimagining the future.' It's especially fitting this year, as educators around the state and the world try to teach in the most difficult of circumstances.
Post a story about a teacher you want to recognize and use the hashtag #TeachersCan
