No, the hit show 'Bluey' will not be canceled

Online rumors fearing the cancellation of "Bluey" prompts the producer to confirm the series' return.

HOUSTON — Beloved Australian series "Bluey is the number one most streamed series in the U.S. for Disney+ according to the show's production company, Ludo. In the season three finale fans are left with a slight cliffhanger that sparked renewed online rumors of the show's demise. 

"Bluey" is an animated kid's series following a family of dogs as they navigate family life using 'real-world' challenges including inappropriate language, separation anxiety, voting and infertility. The show's popularity sparked a tour of live shows across the country, including shows in Texas.

The latest episode called "The Sign" is more than triple the runtime of a normal episode, prompting some to be concerned the show would not return for another season. One of the show's producers is setting the record straight.

WHAT WE FOUND

Hours after the new episode of "Bluey" dropped on Disney+ in the U.S. google search trends showed Texans among the thousands of people across the country trying to find out if the show will get the axe after season three. Without any episode spoilers, The KHOU 11 Verify Team found out "Bluey" will be back for another season. According to an interview on BBC Radio, show producer Sam Moor said, "No it is not the end for Bluey. I'm sure we have many more surprises in store for you."

Since the series' first started episodes averaged about seven minutes in length. The latest episode runs 28 minutes.

Fans described it as an "emotional rollercoaster" in tweets posted to X. 

Producers of the show have yet to announce when the show will return for season four.

Texans can experience "Bluey" and friends through four live performances at the Wortham Center's Brown Theater July 6 - 7, 2024. Tickets start at $35 for the shows.
