HOUSTON — Someone in Houston has claimed a Mega Millions prize worth just over a million dollars.

The drawing took place on February 8 and the ticket was purchased at Angel Shell, located at 718 N. Loop East.

The claimant wished to remain anonymous.

The winning ticket matched all five of the white ball numbers drawn (14-24-31-42-48), but not the Mega Ball number (13).

Mega Millions is played by choosing five numbers from a field of 70 and one Mega Ball number from the second field of 25 numbers.

To win the Mega Millions jackpot, players must match all six numbers drawn including the Mega Ball.

Mega Millions offers a $40 million starting jackpot and a second-tier (Match 5+0) prize of $1 million.
