MAGNOLIA, Texas — The possible remains of a woman missing since March 2023 have been found on a private property in Magnolia, according to Texas EquuSearch.

Margaret Kay-Alana Turner, of Lumberton, was last seen near Tomball on March 10, 2023 when she fled from Harris County deputies in her car. Her family believes she was experiencing a mental health crisis.

Deputies said the car was found abandoned and stuck in a field about a mile away from the original scene.

On April 19, 2024, Texas EquuSearch volunteers conducted a search on a private property in Magnolia, where human remains were found. Positive identification is still pending.

In a post to Facebook, the nonprofit shared their condolences to her parents, Robby and Rosa Calhoun, and thanked them for their "continued trust in our planning and search efforts."

Texas EquuSearch said Kay-Alana's parents "waited respectfully" as they planned additional searches and searched for others who had gone missing.

"You are selfless, you are God-driven, and you are the catalyst that motivated us to never give up," they said.

The nonprofit also thanked experts who consulted with them throughout this time and the communities of Tomball, Magnolia, and northwest Harris County for raising awareness of Kay-Alana's disappearance.

"Thank you for sharing Kay-Alana’s missing person flyer, for checking your properties when we asked, for graciously allowing us to return time after time to search for Kay-Alana. Without your support, our searches would not have been possible," they said.

Monday, April 22, would've been Kay-Alana's birthday. Texas EquuSearch also shared a special message to her.

"To Kay-Alana, Kay, your parents adore you. They are hurting. As you rest in the place prepared for you by our Lord, ask Him to send your momma and daddy a moment of peace and solace as they continue to fight the fight," they said.

According to court documents, Kay-Alana was parked in a woman's driveway and refused to leave. Deputies were called to the home and when they arrived, she allegedly drove off the driveway and crashed into a fence on the house's front lawn.

Deputies said when they tried to open the door to her car, she went into reverse and nearly hit one of them as she backed up. One of the deputies grabbed a wood piece and broke the driver's side window of her car. That's when officials said she sped off through a backyard, almost hitting a deputy once again.

Kay-Alana’s parents recently told our sister station KBMT in Beaumont that they felt that Harris County was treating their daughter like a fugitive, saying the sheriff's office refused to hand over any body or dash cam footage that could help provide them with answers.
