Police say the driver of an SUV hit the pole, bringing down live electrical wires.

HOUSTON — An SUV crashed into a utility pole Friday in southwest Houston.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. Friday at 12398 Gessner Road near West Airport Boulevard.

Police said the driver of an SUV hit the pole, bringing down live electrical wires. CenterPoint Energy was called out to the scene.

Officials said the driver was trapped in the SUV, but crews were able to get the driver out.
