Here's what we know about person of interest Don Steven McDougal in missing Audrii Cunningham case

Before Don Steven McDougal, 42, was named a person of interest, his vehicle, a dark blue Chevrolet, was identified as a vehicle of interest in the search for Audrii.

LIVINGSTON, Texas — UPDATE: On Tuesday, authorities announced they found the body of 11-year-old Audrii Cunningham in the Trinity River. Don Steven McDougal is expected to be charged with capital murder.

On Saturday, the Texas Department of Public Safety shared the identity of a man who they said is their main person of interest in the search for Audrii Cunningham, the 11-year-old Livingston girl at the center of an AMBER Alert

That main person of interest is Don Steven McDougal, 42, of Livingston. His vehicle, a dark blue 2003 Chevrolet Suburban, was identified as a "vehicle of interest" in the search for Audrii.

McDougal was arrested and booked into the Polk County Jail late Friday night on unrelated charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Records show McDougal has a lengthy criminal history dating back to 2001. In 2007, he was convicted of enticing a minor with intent out of Brazoria County.

According to Lt. Craig Cummings with the Texas Department of Public Safety, McDougal lives in a camper behind the home where Audrii lives with her father, grandparents and other family.  He also said McDougal has a relationship with the family.

In a news conference on Monday, Polk County Sheriff Byron Lyons said McDougal was likely the last person to see Audrii. Lyons also said McDougal admitted to leaving the house with her.

The search for Audrii Cunningham

Audrii Cunningham went missing Thursday at about 6:45 a.m.

Her family reported her missing after she didn't get off the school bus. An AMBER Alert followed the missing person's report. Investigators later learned Audrii never got on the bus nor did she report to school Thursday.

Search efforts were initially focused on a southern area of Lake Livingston on Friday and Texas EquuSearch was seen looking for her in an area near I-69 and the Trinity River on Saturday.

On Monday, the Trinity River boat ramp off I-69 was closed as the search continued and investigators asked the public to stay away from Scenic Loop FM 3277.

Cummings asked the public to check their cameras for any video taken on Thursday between 5:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. on FM 3126 in Livingston, Texas to help them piece together a timeline of McDougal's whereabouts after Audrii went missing.

The reward for information on Audrii's disappearance has increased to $10,000.
