The family of a Houston attorney has identified him as the man who police say was shot and killed after he tried to intervene in a dispute between a customer and employees at a west Houston McDonald's over the weekend.
Officers with the Houston Police Department responded to the shooting scene at 8147 Katy Freeway at about 6 p.m. on Saturday.
According to police, a customer was arguing with McDonald’s employees because he wanted a refund for his order. The victim, Jeffrey Limmer, reportedly stepped in to try and calm the man down, but he instead turned his attention to Limmer.
They went outside where there was a verbal disagreement between them and Limmer pushed the customer down, according to police. The customer then went to his car and pulled out a gun before he allegedly shot Limmer.
HPD said the gunman fled the scene in an early 2000s blue Ford pickup.
Limmer, 46, was an associate at the Houston office of the Lewis Brisbois law firm. According to his biography on the company's website, Limmer attended the University of Texas at Austin and the South Texas College of Law.
