MONT BELVIEU, Texas A man was killed on Christmas night at his home when there was some kind of explosion.
Investigators said 52-year-old John Cook was in his backyard in the 200 block of Oaks Grande Drive tampering with a flare gun when the explosion happened.
I ve heard cannons fire and this was as loud or louder than that, said neighbor K. R. Harrison.
Authorities said they found gun powder, fireworks, glue gun and scissors inside the home.
Cook was taken to memorial Herman Houston Hospital where he died.
