Man killed in hit-and-run after falling out of back of truck on Highway 6

Deadly hit-and-run in Fort Bend County

FORT BEND COUNTY, Texas — Deputies in Fort Bend County are investigating a hit-and-run that killed a man on Highway 6 late Sunday.

The sheriff’s office said deputies were responding to another call before 10 p.m. when they came upon the man lying in the roadway just north of Bissonnet.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Deputies said a truck was stopped nearby. It’s believed the victim was in the back of the truck, helping to move items, when he fell out and was then hit by another vehicle. The driver of the vehicle who hit the man as well as the occupants inside the truck all fled the scene, deputies said.

No further information about the incident has been released at this time, nor has the victim's identity.
