KLEIN, Texas — The superintendent of Klein ISD is resigning.
Dr. Bret Champion submitted his resignation letter to the district Tuesday. According to the letter, Champion is resigning to take the same position at the school district in Medford, Ore.
In the letter, Champion said with his sons graduating college and a personal medical scare, the job in Oregon “seemed like an interesting step.” Read the full letter here.
Champion’s last day will be July 1, three years to the day he was named superintendent of Klein ISD.
Klein ISD has begun the process of searching for a new superintendent and hope to name a lone finalist in early June.
