LEAGUE CITY, Texas — League City Police on Monday arrested a man accused of taking photos of a woman in a Target bathroom.

Jacob Herrera has been charged with invasive visual recording.

Police said the woman was using the restroom at the Target in the 3100 block of South Gulf Freeway when she noticed a cell phone with a picture of her underneath the adjacent stall. The woman told police she quickly left the bathroom and notified a manager.

According to authorities, the woman and the manager saw Herrera leave the women’s restroom and go into the men’s restroom where he remained for 2 minutes.

Herrera told police he was looking at Twitter on his phone when he walked into the women’s restroom by accident. He admitted he did not leave the bathroom immediately and denied any recording. Herrera said he was at Target to “shop for a few things,” but could tell police what he was looking for.

Police said Herrera appeared in a hurry to leave the scene, as he asked officers several times how long the investigation would take so he could get back to work at Lowe’s.

Herrera was booked in the Galveston County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
