HOUSTON – A man wanted in the connection with the fatal shooting of a father in front of his two children was arrested in Georgia.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says Ronald Roy "Pappa" Smith, 32, was apprehended with assistance from the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force and U.S. Marshals. He was booked into the Worth County Jail in Georgia and is awaiting extradition.
Investigators say Smith is wanted in the fatal shooting of Michael Ware, 34, in the 15600 block of Bammel Village. He is charged with murder.
"Two children were in the middle of a homicide, and this guy had no care in the world whenever he shot and killed our victim. These two children could have been shot and killed as well." said Deputy Alfred Vera, the Harris County Sheriff's Office, said in October.
Smith is also wanted in connection with the death of a man in the 8300 block of Veterans Memorial that happened last December.
