HOUSTON — From the moment Stephen Marchione got his first guitar in Bergamo, Italy, he and guitars were bonded for life. Then, after seeing a liutaio, or luthier, at work in Italy, creating guitars was forever in Stephen's heart. Stephen's first job in the instrument making industry was at Pensa-Suhr guitars, where he worked with renowned luthier John Suhr to advance his skills. After working with John, Stephen began studying with violin makers.
Marchione Guitars was built on making guitars for professional musicians. Over the years, Stephen and Marchione Guitars have built a name and a network for themselves all over the world. However, Stephen appreciates how the city of Houston embraces artists like himself.
