Vincent Gardner and Belinda Munro-Gargner share details on upcoming performances by Jazz Houston.

HOUSTON — Jazz Houston has some exciting events coming up to end its sixth season.

First off, an invitation to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. this weekend as a part of their celebration of Duke Ellington at 125.

In May Jazz Houston will honor the late great Houston Pianist with its Joe Sample Memorial Concert featuring special guest Stix Hooper, the last founding member of The Crusaders.

In June they will travel to San Francisco for its Jazz Houston Youth Orchestra residency.

Vincent Gardner and Belinda Munro-Gargner are the Co-founders of Jazz Houston.

Their vision is to highlight Houston as an artistic epicenter for the music by sustaining a Jazz Orchestra, celebrating Houston's contributions to Jazz, creating opportunities for young people to learn and perform the music, and growing the audience for it.
