Brooks's Blog: Weekend allergies high

As spring progresses, pollen continues to be a problem and now grass pollens have joined the party! Achoo!
Grass pollens have been counted as, "high" for the first time this spring.

HOUSTON — If you get hay fever in late spring it may be due to the grass pollen. Even though you may feel mostly immune to the heaviest days of tree pollen in March, sniffling in late-April may indeed point to a sensitivity to grass pollens. For the first time this season they are registering as, "high". Elevated pollen levels will continue through the weekend, despite rain expected later Saturday. While precipitation should beat down the pollen for a very short time, tomorrow's bright sunshine and gusty breezes will spur plants to reintroduce it into the air. If you want to check on pollen levels as they are recorded at Houston's official location, follow this link to their website. -Meteorologist Brooks Garner
