Sorry, Houston: The sunshine is gone and the chance for rain has returned

Double whammy weekend! Storms return Saturday, and we lose an hour of sleep as we "spring forward."

HOUSTON — The KHOU 11 Weather Team is tracking big changes for the weekend, possibly during Saturday’s rodeo activities. It's too soon to nail down the exact timing of possible storms, however.

A system moving in from the West Coast is going to impact Houston's weather this weekend. But even as early as Thursday we'll see increasing cloud coverage and a scattered rain chance both Thursday and Friday.

Saturday is we’ll need to prepare for the chance of strong storms. The timing and strength of the storms could change, however, so stay up to date with the latest forecast here.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

Thursday – High of 70°, 30 percent rain chance

Friday – High of 75°, 40 percent rain chance

Saturday – High of 78°, 60 percent rain chance (storms likely)

Sunday – High of 76, sunny skies return!

Scattered rain returns again for the start of your work week Monday and Tuesday
