HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — One person died in a two-vehicle crash on Highway 6 near the Mission Bend area in west Harris County Monday morning, according to Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
The sheriff posted to X about the crash just after 6 a.m. This happened just south of the Westpark Tollway.
The sheriff said a man in a green Dodge Charger was speeding heading north on Highway 6 and then veered over into the oncoming traffic. He then slammed into an SUV head-on.
The sheriff said two people were pinned in the two-vehicle crash.
The driver of the Charger was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman from the SUV was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive.
