HOUSTON — It's been a messy day all across the Houston area as severe storms and flooding continue to cause problems in multiple counties.

Road conditions were treacherous. One example was on the Eastex Freeway in north Harris County, where a big rig apparently hydroplaned in the southbound lanes and damaged the barrier to the HOV lane south of East Mount Houston Road.

At this point, we don’t know of any injuries, but it’s causing a major traffic delay in the area.

Sheriff Gonzalez said a heavy-duty wrecker was called to get the big rig off the road.

If you don’t have to get out on the roads, your best bet is to stay where you are.
