18-wheeler crash in west Harris County snarls traffic on Grand Parkway

The driver of the overturned 18-wheeler was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — An overturned 18-wheeler snarled traffic Monday on the Grand Parkway in west Harris County.

Sheriff Ed Gonzalez tweeted about the crash around 3 p.m. and said it would take about three hours to clear.

A Houston TranStar camera at 99 and Clay Road showed the crash, which had backed up traffic in the area.

Gonazlez said the big rig lost a load of construction material, including sheetrock and drywall.

The driver of the 18-wheeler was taken to an area hospital to be treated for injuries, although the extent of those injuries is not unknown.
