Update: Texans lock of AFC South title, will face Cleveland at NRG Stadium in playoffs

Houston won the AFC South by beating Indianapolis, while Jacksonville fell to Tennessee.

HOUSTON — Editor's note: This story has been updated to reflect Sunday's games.

The Houston Texans locked up a spot in the playoffs Saturday with their 23-19 win over Indianapolis on Saturday night and less than 24 hours later, they were crowned AFC South champs.

It's Houston's first time back in the playoffs since the 2019 season.

Houston will host Cleveland in the wild card round of the postseason on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.

Houston lost to the Browns earlier this season at home. It was a Christmas Eve when Joe Flacco led Cleveland to the 36-22 win over Houston. In that game, Case Keenum was starting his second straight game in place of Houston's CJ Stroud, who was still in concussion protocol. This time around, it'll be Stroud leading the Texans.
