Sports Extra Extra: How badly do the McNairs want a Super Bowl and why is Diggs a good fit for the Texans?

Principal owner Cal McNair said he can't wait for practices to start so players can mesh together.

HOUSTON — How badly do Cal and Hannah McNair want the Houston Texans to play in a Super Bowl?

“It's emotional to talk about,” said Hannah, the VP of the Texans Foundation.

The Texans' franchise leadership expressed excitement and optimism for the upcoming NFL season during a recent media availability with KHOU 11’s Jason Bristol.

The team will reveal its new uniforms on April 23 and the NFL Draft begins April 25.

Regarding the team on the field, principal owner Cal McNair said he couldn't wait for practices to start so players can mesh together. Both McNairs praised wide receiver Stefon Diggs. Cal said he looks forward to getting to know Diggs amid past labels of the wide receiver being a "diva."

“As a team, you want receivers that want the ball and want to make a difference with it once they get their hands on it,” said Cal McNair. “And I think he's one of those guys that can make a difference. I'm glad he's here.”

Looking ahead to the NFL Draft, Cal believes the Texans are in a good position to take the best player available rather than having glaring needs, like in past years.
