Harden asks fans to support the Rockets ahead of playoffs

"Thank you #RedNation for all of the support through out the year but this is when it matters most. Let's #RunAsOne," tweeted Rockets star James Harden ahead of the team's first playoff game Sunday.

HOUSTON - Rockets guard James Harden is hoping Houston supports the Rockets on Sunday.

Game 1 against the Minnesota Timberwolves starts at 8:30 p.m. The top-seeded Rockets have home court advantage.

At more than 30 Academy Sports and Outdoors, Rockets gear is being restocked every week.

The sporting goods store is the official retailer of the Houston Rockets and this playoff season, they're selling some pretty unique shirts.

On one shirt, guards Chris Paul and James Harden are dressed in an astronaut's uniform, as they plant a flag on the moon.

"It’s a really big, exciting time right now," said Academy spokesman Allan Rojas. "Even if you see behind me, we have the graffiti t-shirt, the graffiti hats, kind of similar to what you’ve seen downtown with the Be Someone mural."

Rockets fan Nancy Trejo spent her Thursday lunch break moving through racks of merchandise. As she was buying up Rockets swag for Sunday's game, other shoppers were busy looking through Astros caps and shirts.

"And I get that, and I love the Astros, but the Rockets," said Trejo, "they’re going to get a championship too!"

As of Thursday afternoon, you could still find tickets to Rockets playoff games online. Ticket resale websites are listing seats in the upper level of the arena for about $80.

"Going into the playoffs, the number one seed, I think as we continue to build, it’s going to be even better," said Rojas of merchandise sales.

"The more the merrier," joked Trejo as she talked about band wagon fans. "Let the band wagon break!"
