Sarkisian is among the coaches being speculated as a possible replacement for Nick Saban at the University of Alabama.

Before taking over the Longhorns football program, Sarkisian served as Saban’s offensive coordinator at Alabama from 2019 to 2020 and as a member of the staff from 2016 to 2017.

Sarkisian and his wife, Loreal, posted to social media their support for the Longhorns late Thursday night.

“It’s a great day to be a Longhorn,” the coach said.

Loreal Sarkisian also posted to X a “Hook’em” and orange heart emoji at the same time.

Coach Sarkisian is coming off his best season as the head coach of the Longhorns after leading the team to their first College Football Playoff berth.

The Longhorns came up short in their bid to play for the National Championship after falling to Washington, 37-31, in the semi-final played in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1.
