Turns out that Donald Trump had a point about his debate microphone.
The Commission on Presidential Debates issued a one-line statement late Friday: "Regarding the first debate, there were issues regarding Donald Trump's audio that affected the sound level in the debate hall."
Trump, whose complaints about the microphone had been dismissed earlier in the week, made sure supporters at a rally in Michigan knew about the commission's statement.
Five days after the debate that many observers believe he lost to Hillary Clinton, Trump also suggested he had problems with the set-up beyond the microphone.
