Saturday begins 10 straight palindrome days

HOUSTON — You’ve probably heard of palindromes. They’re strings of characters or words that read the same backward as they do forward.  They’re words like ‘mom’ and ‘dad’ and names like ‘Anna’ or ‘Bob.’

They’re also dates, and starting on Saturday, we’ve got a whole string of them – 10 in a row to be exact!

Saturday is April 20, 2024, or when you put it in all numbers, 4/20/24, which is a palindrome. The following day is 4/21/24 – also, a palindrome.

Keep going and you get the following palindromes

  • 4/22/24
  • 4/23/24
  • 4/24/24
  • 4/25/24
  • 4/26/24
  • 4/27/24
  • 4/28/24
  • 4/29/24

So when will the next time we see 10 consecutive palindrome days be?  We’ll have them again in May of 2025, June of 2026, July of 2027, August of 2028 and September of 2029. After that, according to the Farmer's Almanac, we're done with ten straight for the rest of the century.
