Finals Game 7 was the most-watched NBA game in the past 18 years

  

 

 

Sunday night's Game 7 of the NBA Finals — the game where LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers exacted their revenge and became the first team in Finals history to overcome a 3-1 deficit — was the most-watched NBA game since Game 6 of the the 1998 Finals series between the Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz, according to Nielsen.

The game drew an average audience of 30.79 million viewers and peaked with 44.51 million from 10:30-10:30 p.m. ET (the closing minutes of the game).

It was also the most-watched NBA game in both ABC network and WatchESPN history.

The series as a whole — which averaged 20.16 million viewers over the course of the seven games — was the most-watched Finals series since 1998.
