HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — A wrecker driver is facing criminal charges after he allegedly tried to hit another driver on Monday night in the Cypress area, deputy constables say.
The incident happened shortly before midnight in the 14100 block of Spring Cypress Drive, according to the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office.
A driver told deputies the tow truck driver was aggressively following him and at times driving into on-coming traffic at a high rate of speed.
When the driver stopped in a well-lit area to call police, the wrecker driver allegedly tried to hit him several times. He told deputies he feared for his life.
Deputies identified the wrecker driver as 36-year-old Clinton Hudnall.
Hudnall told deputies he was following a drunk driver and even had dash camera video to show it. But investigators say the video did not exist, and Hudnall failed to call 911 to report the alleged drunk driver.
Hudnall is now charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. His bond was set at $30,000.
