Police say an innocent man has died from the injuries he sustained Thursday when a police chase ended in a crash in southeast Houston.

Police have not released his identity but say the victim, 61, died at the hospital around 10 p.m.

According to the Houston Police Department, the suspect in the chase, 27-year-old Joshua Denagelo Myles, is charged with evading arrest with the possibility of charges being upgraded.

Police say the victim was with a 47-year-old woman in a white Nissan Versa when a vehicle being driven by Myles plowed into them at the intersection of Scott and Yellowstone.

Air 11 was overhead at the time and recorded the chase and crash.

The 61-year-old male victim was taken to the hospital where he later died. The 47-year-old woman he was with was hospitalized in critical condition.

Myles went on to hit another vehicle as well, but that driver was not seriously hurt. The suspect then jumped out and tried to run away before police caught and arrested him.

Police say Myles was being pursued by officers because he was in a stolen vehicle.

The investigation is still underway, HPD says.
